Pastor Jesse and Sarah Horton

Jesse got his start in ministry as an amateur bull rider in 2002, leading cowboy church services throughout his 10-year bull riding career. He and Sarah met at a rodeo. Sarah's nursing skills eventually came in handy when Jesse got hurt in 2005. The two were married in 2006 and now have one adult child and three younger children. Jesse is an ordained pastor with a Master of Divinity degree from Moody Theological Seminary. Sarah currently works as a manager/hostess at Queen Street Deli in Kinston, also substituting occasionally in the Lenoir County Public School system.
Jesse and Sarah find their call in God's Kingdom as disciple makers, believing that God has created us all uniquely and beautifully to do specific good works that will grow Jesus's church to maturity and love (Ephesians 2:10, 4:7-16).
"No one is beyond Jesus's ability and desire to set free from sin and its consequences. He didn't come for people wearing suits and ties whose lives looked perfect from the outside; He came for the poor, the blind, the sick, the lame - for sinners and tax collectors, the most despised and forgotten people on the planet. He came for me! And He came for you, too!"
